Poems About Nature and Spirituality

By Mary Joan Meagher

MOSAIC

Each of my days is a tile:
A bit of blue for Irish eyes

A bit of bronze in a tanned face

Pink for the touch of a baby's hand

Green of the grass and gold of the sun

The pattern forms in lines on the tiles:
A hand reaching out to grasp mine

A cheek leaning forward for a kiss

A shoulder curved to support my face
An arm extended around my waist

Everything together in all of my days:
Colors, images, lines, and curves

Courage, trust, and faith the themes
Love is the message imprinted there

Forming, becoming the face of God.
