Mail for iOS (iPod, iPhone, and iPad)
- Tap the Settings icon on the home screen.
- Scroll down and tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
- Under the Accounts section, tap Add Account.
- For the type of account, tap Other.
- Under the Mail section, tap Add Mail Account.
- You will now need to provide your basic e-mail settings:
- Name: Your name (as you'd like it to appear to other people when you send mail)
- Address: yourtieslogin@ties2.net
- Password: Your TIES password
- Description: TIES (this is to help you identify it if you have multiple accounts)
- Tap Next.
- Ensure IMAP is selected (blue) at the top of the screen.
- Under the Incoming Mail Server section, fill in the following:
- Host Name: imap.ties2.net
- User name: Your TIES login name (just the part before the @ sign)
- Password: Should be filled in automatically from the previous screen
- Under the Outgoing Mail Server section, fill in the following:
- Host Name: mail.ties2.net
- User Name: Your TIES login name
- Password: Your TIES password
- Tap Next. It will say Verifying.
- When it asks Do you want to try setting up the account without SSL?, tap Yes. It will go back to Verifying.
- It will ask the same question a second time - tap Yes again. (One is for receiving mail and one is for sending.)
- When it finishes verifying your settings, tap Save. Your account has now been added and is ready to use.
- Close the Settings app and open the Mail app to start sending and receiving mail.
